Cut into the heart of the mountains; look down into the Maitland stream and the
stunning beech forests that cover the Maitland Valley.
Snow-capped mountains bless us with their beauty in the spring and autumn. With rolling
tussocks curillin blue sky reflected in the Lake it is a dramatic and
breath-taking location to ride.
Then we ride home to the warmth and comfort of the beautiful Lake Ohau Quarters with
the hot tub bubbling on the deck for you to enjoy.
Afternoon tea, hot showers, read a book or a good chat with fellow riders while we cook
you a beautiful 2 course dinner with farm fresh locally sourced produce.
This location is part of/close to the Aoraki Mackenzie
International dark sky reserve. There is little if any light pollution which
means that we can enjoy the incredible star laden skies. The stillness of the
mountains and the intensity of the stars is such a beautiful relaxing
environment to enjoy.
