Enjoy a guided tour through New Zealand’s largest underground wine cave, indulge in a cheeseboard which accompanies a wine tasting, and savour a unique lunch with 5 dishes cooked in retired oak barrels and perfectly matched with 5 wines.

You will also have an opportunity to retrace history with a visit to the historical settlements of Arrowtown, and Old Cromwell (when time permits). Learn about the early pioneering history and how the wine region was formed through an array of fun facts and interesting stories from your knowledgeable wine guide. At the end of the tour you will be returned to your accommodation.

Be greeted by your specialist Wine Guide and venture into the heart of Central Otago to taste fine wines at four premium vineyards over three contrasting wine sub-regions; Gibbston, Cromwell and the Bannockburn basin.

Take a guided tour through New Zealand’s largest underground wine cave and enjoy a tasting inside their library alcove. Stop at a unique lunch venue, experiencing a gourmet lunch consisting of five dishes cooked in retired oak barrels and matching with wines – just divine!

Take a stroll through Old Cromwell or visit the must-see historical Arrowtown. Your passionate guide will impart all there is to know about the local area, the pioneering history and of course everything about Central Otago wines.

Please note, unfortunately children under 17 years are not allowed inside the Gibbston Valley wine cave. This means that they would be required to sit with the guide in the Gibbston Valley Winery cellar door unaccompanied by their parents/caregivers while the parents take part in the cave tour (approximately 30-45 minutes). Alternatively, we can arrange a tasting in the cellar door, or swap the Gibbston Valley Winery altogether for a different vineyard on request.
