The Tasman Glacier Ice Adventure is a true “highlight” experience, giving you a glimpse into the world of Kiwi mountaineering.
Your day begins with a scenic helicopter flight to a high landing, at approx. 1,400 metres above sea level. Then, with your glacier guide, you traverse and explore the incredible glacial landscape of crevasses, moulins, and towering seracs.
Your guide will coach you in the use of crampons, ice axe, ice screws, and other tools of the ice climber. Techniques you will need when you squeeze through ice features, be lowered into moulins, and then, climb back up using ice tools and your crampons.
You just have to bring your own lunch and snacks and an appetite for adventure!
