The essential introduction to Wellington! This is an accessible and fun tour which cruises around Wellington’s remarkable waterfront
and into parts of the city without ever going on a road. Perfect for those with
just a couple of hours in Wellington to explore our city with a friendly,
knowledgeable and local guide who will share what makes our city a great place
to live and play in, while also letting you in on the local secrets that make
us tick!

Our intro tour is set at an easy pace on open, flat ground
allowing guests to ride either a regular or electric bike (but in that famous
Wellington wind we definitely recommend electric!). With plenty of time for
questions and photographs, you’ll make your way through iconic Wellington
landmarks, such as Te Papa Museum, New Zealand’s Parliament, our dazzling,
rugged coast, Oriental Bay’s famous “Seven Sisters” and much more. Along with
enjoying the fun and ease of our electric bikes, you’ll gain insight into key
moments and figures that have shaped Aotearoa New Zealand into the country it
is today. From the land to our indigenous history, to our impressive arts,
culture and film industry, to New Zealand’s trail blazing heroes, there is
something for everyone to enjoy in this highly-rated outdoor experience. We are
also happy to adapt this tour into your own unique and personal experience, tailoring
the ride with stops that you may be particularly interested in- our guides are
filled with knowledge!

Meet your guide at our store in central Wellington approx. 15 min prior to your departure time. After
listening to the safety briefing, enjoy time to practice in a car-free space
before heading out. The tour is light-hearted and fun. Our business is
Wellington based and we've been running bike tours for more than nine years so
you can have confidence riding with us. Your tour ends back at Switched on
Bikes in Central Wellington
