Experience the ultimate private guided day hike from Te Anau on the Kepler Track. Begin with a thrilling helicopter ride over Lake Te Anau, scenic hidden lakes, and native forests, landing in the alpine area at Luxmore Hut. As you explore the alpine region, soak in panoramic views of the surrounding Fiordland mountains. With a private guide at your side we can tailor the day to your motivations and pace. We encourage guests to take their time in the alpine area and fully enjoy this serene environment before returning to Luxmore Hut for a well-deserved lunch.
After lunch, embark on a descent down the mountain through silver beech forests, passing beneath towering limestone bluffs until you reach the sandy shores of Brod Bay. Here, you will be picked up for a scenic water taxi ride back to Te Anau.
From Luxmore Hut, the downhill walk spans 8 km (5 miles) with a descent of 800 meters (2600 feet), requiring a high level of fitness and hill-walking experience.
